review 1: She and Ben aren’t together anymore. But Ben is willing to fight for her. I loved how he tried his hardest to win her back but I kind of disliked how fast she caved… “I’m going to take care of this girl. She’s mine. And I’m not going anywhere.” – BenI mean, if I found out that the guy I loved might have a baby with some other girl… I’d blow up in a million pieces, and I would not give in that easily. He knows what he has when she’s with him. And he won’t disappoint her a second time. “I can’t lose you, not when I feel like my life is finally falling into place. You were the missing piece. You were the cheese to my macaroni.” – BenThings get difficult when Ben realizes that he isn’t capable to keep his hands off of her. He caves and tells ... moreher his troubles.“I can’t do this. I can’t share this room with you, sleep in the same bed, and be expected not to touch you. I love you, Emmy. You’re line. All of you. You’re heart, and body. And I’m yours.”“What are you saying?”“I just can’t take it anymore.”“You don’t want me.”“I’ve had the biggest case blue balls since we got back together. I’m about to make the fucking Guinness Book of World Records. I’ll have to see a doctor to make sure this won’t cause permanent damage in case you want kids someday.” He realizes that Emmy isn’t like the other girls he’s been with.“She was a forever type of girl. And the problem was, I wasn’t a forever type of guy. I didn’t know if I was even capable if that level of commitment. She deserved more.”- BenBut what he really is saying is that he has problems with commitment. But I think he’ll prove to her that he really is worth it! And he’s meeting the parents (and the brother) in Tennessee. And this is a totally different side of the book. It’s not all glitter and glamour. And I liked that! Very much even! “It was her father who had me nervous. And it was the South. Didn’t they shoot first ask questions later?” –BenBut when we all think that Ben isn’t ready for real commitment Kendall Ryan surprises us again. And wow, did I love it?!“Move in with me.”“Don’t you want your space?”“No. I want you in my space. You’re mine. I hate the thought of leaving you here.”But things go wrong, for real. And they seem not fixable. “You’ve gone too far this time. Pushed her too much. She’s cracked.” – Ellie“Half of me wanted to lap him; the other half wanted to throw myself into his arms and never let him go. It was still a question of which half would win.” – EmmyBut as we know Ben, he finds a way to win her over. And… “I love you, Emmy. Let me make you my wife and love you for the rest of my life”“Where’s my ring?”And well, things get better and better. “I want to get you pregnant.”“Are you serious?”This book was better than the first one, 5 stars it is! The song I chose is ‘let me love you’ by Ne-Yo.“Much as you blame yourselfYou can't repent for the way that you feelHad no example of a love that was even remotely realHow can you understand something that you never hadOh baby if you let me I can help you out with all of thatGirl let me love you And I will love youUntil you learn to love yourselfGirl let me love you And all your troubleDon't be afraid, girl let me help”-Ne-yo
review 2: Having been disappointed in the first book I had hoped this second one might be better, no such luck. Emmy a young woman from Tennessee has moved to New York to work for Status Modelling, working as the personal assistant to the owner, Fiona is the boss from hell. It's while working at the agency that Emmy meets Ben a 22 year old male model, a highly sucessful one, he also has a history with Fiona who is 16 years his senior. Fiona is now pregnant and implying that Ben is the father. That should have ended Ben and Emmy's fledgling relationship IMO. But because Emmy is a weak minded idiot she sticks by him. This story was just more of the same that was in the first book, Fiona refuses to back off, her constant attempts to win Ben back are really rather pathetic. But what really ticked me off about this story was Ben and Emmy. He has secrets that have the potential to ruin what he and Emmy have, but it's his constant support of Fiona that's really really irritating, he refuses to see her in a realistic light. She's a malicious and manipulative woman that got on my last nerve, but to quote Ben " she means well" is this guy delusional or what. Then he allows his ex girlfriend London to pick out a new wardrobe for Emmy, that was another of his douche moves, and what does Emmy do through all this? Absolutely nothing. When what she should have done was run very quickly away from him, and try to find a backbone. less
