review 1: The fantastic opening pulled me in and let me know this would not be a typical angsty romance. What also struck me was that although the plot is extreme and the characters far from ordinary, they both seem so real. The author almost lost me when I realized both the main characters were rich and quasi-famous, however, instead of using the typical rock-star fantasy world where 'all is groovy 'cause we have money and fame' she inserted a huge dose of reality. I felt like Rain and Jude could be any of the real kids of celebrities who we see imploding all over entertainment news. A lot of the other reviews for this book note that they don't like Jude, but I thought he was brilliantly written and consistent for a young man who was raised the way he was. All of the characters wer... moree consistent and complex, which made it tricky to guess where the plot was headed next. The twists near the end were fantastic. Oh, and did I mention the sexual tension and and romantic (in it's own unique way) love story.
review 2: Well, it was unusual for one thing. This was probably the creepiest triangle under the sun in the beginning with Jude, Kaden and Rain. That shit was fucking squicky, but it kept me going because I just had to see what would happen. Honestly, I thought it was going to end with Jude being raped by Kaden, possibly Jude and Rain and the two of them having to kill him, but thank God, none of my fears were realised. I declare this book safe to read! less
