review 1: A great installment in the series! This book had tons of action and tons of heart and romance. This couple had a mountain of issues to overcome in the midst of an all-out war; yet the story didn't feel over the top. The way they dealt with their problems was believable, which a lot of authors have trouble creating. I hate when a couple has obstacles to hurdle, and suddenly, at the end, everything is perfect without seeing the process. I think Sparks did a wonderful job with Phil and Vanda, and it reminded me why I continue to read the series, which has been hit or miss up to this point.
review 2: Phil and Vanda have to be two of my favorite characters. They are great together.As this series moves along, there tends to be much more "vampire world" and "others" ... moreworld drama mixed in with the romance story line. I enjoy that a lot, it helps so that the series keeps moving and feels less like just a bunch of romances that are not joined together.there is sex in this book, but not super gratuitous. less
