Tisha Martin

I’m so glad you joined us today! For me, writing is like breathing: I can’t live without it. And coffee. And books. And coffee… I write historical fiction set in the Midwest during the world wars that explores fraying family relationships, broken dreams, and determination to rescue both.

Short story PDF to Giveaway :: Puddle of Remorse
Clara’s upset that she has to babysit her trouble-maker kid sister and put up the tomatoes when she’d rather be outside watching the harvest. But a puddle of remorse and a near-death experience teach her the importance of where to place her attitude.

I’ve been published since 2002, both in print and online. In 2014, I won the Commencement Contest for my WWII historical fiction short story, “Puddle of Remorse,” which was concurrently published in Fountains, the student literary journal at Pensacola Christian College.

SONY DSC Clari Dees

An avid reader by age seven, Clari loved to hang out at the public library, and the local bookstore staff knew her by name. Her favorite books ranged from Marguerite Henry’s horse stories to Louis L’Amour’s westerns and Grace Livingston Hill’s romances. Her fascination with books and libraries continues, and Clari now works as a public librarian by day and a writer by night.

J. Carol Nemeth

has always loved reading and enjoyed making up stories since junior high school, most based in the places she has lived. She    worked in the National Park Service as a Park Aid and served in the US Army where she was stationed in Italy and traveled to over thirteen countries. After marrying the love of her life, who she met while stationed in Italy, they lived in a lot of places, including North Yorkshire, England. They now live in West Virginia, where, in her spare time, Carol enjoys sewing stuffed animals for the local ambulances to give to sick and injured children and baby blankets for the Local Birthright organization, a Pro-Life group providing assistance to young pregnant women. Carol and her husband are active in their church and enjoy their two grown children, son-in-law and three grandchildren.

American Jessica Montgomery arrives in WW I England to be greeted with the horrible news that local vagrants and homeless folk are being found murdered. With the help of local Dr. Garth Samuels, they do all they can to protect them. Is it a deranged individual who is the harbinger of death or could it be something far more sinister? As they search for answers to end the horror, Jess learns who she can and cannot trust, but it may be too late when she finds her own life in danger.

Book in the Giveaway :: When Tides Turn (paperback)
When Quintessa Beaumont learns the US Navy has established the

WAVES program for women, she enlists, eager to throw off her frivolous ways and contribute to the war effort. Lt. Dan Avery employs his skills in antisubmarine warfare to fight U-boats at the peak of the Battle of the Atlantic, but the last thing he wants to see on his radar is fun-loving Tess. Cara Putman

Since the time I could read Nancy Drew, I have wanted to write mysteries. In 2005 I attended a book signing at my local Christian bookstore. The rest, as they say, is history. There I met Colleen Coble. With prompting from my husband, I shared my dream with Colleen. Since those infamous words, I’ve been writing books.

In addition to writing, I am an attorney, lecturer at a Big Ten university, active in women’s ministry, and all around crazy woman. Crazy about God, my husband and my kids. I graduated with honors from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Go Huskers!), George Mason Law School (JD), and Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management (MBA). You can learn more about my books at http://www.caraputman.com.

Book in the Giveaway :: Beyond Justice

Hayden McCarthy knows firsthand the pain when justice is not served. It’s why she became an attorney and why she’s so driven in her career. When she’s assigned a wrongful death case against the government, she isn’t sure if it’s the lucky break she needs to secure a partnership—or an attempt to make sure she never gets there.

Further complicating matters is Andrew, her roommate’s distractingly attractive cousin. But Andrew’s father is a Congressman, and Hayden’s currently taking on the government. Could the timing be any worse?

The longer she keeps the case active, the higher the stakes become. Unknown enemies seem determined to kill the case—or her. Logic and self-preservation would indicate she should close the case. But how can she, when justice is still just beyond her reach?

“Cara Putman’s expert legal mind shines in Beyond Justice as she weaves a gripping, suspenseful tale of intrigue that takes on one of the hardest issues of our time. Hayden McCarthy is one feisty heroine that doesn’t let anything get between her and the truth.” —Jordyn Redwood, author of the Bloodline Trilogy and Fractured Memory
