review 1: An excellent graphic novel. Much darker than Kevin Baker's prose novels, about a low-level Russian mob enforcer in Coney Island who was formerly a soldier in Chechnya. Although most of the "action" is in Brooklyn, it constantly drifts back to wars throughout Russian history. His father and grandfather and great grandfather fought in other Russian wars -- and recall wars from still earlier periods. Each of these is a series of betrayals, of women, by women, and all ending up badly for everyone. And the artwork is haunting.
review 2: From its description, Luna Park sounded like a noir fan's wet dream. Betrayal, crime, sex, a hooker that dabbles in fortune telling - come on. That's amazing. The end result is fairly good, if told in a really confusing manner. By we

It looks good, although the color palate felt a bit limiting at times. Overall, Luna Park was an interesting read, but I think that I'll have to read it another time or two to really *get* it. less

An interesting graphic novel. The art works was okay, and the story was good with some good twists.
