review 1: I have read multiple parenting books having 4 daughters with radically different personalities and very different parenting styles involved in their lives. We've done "1-2-3 Magic" and "Love and Logic" and "Smart but Scattered" and I can't put names on the other styles. This is the first one I've read that I couldn't put down and started and finished in 2 days. Dr. Leman's style is refreshing with the humor and dose of real life that is involved. I agree with other reviews that I could do without so many religious references, but I'm able to read past those and get to the meat of what he's saying. Now to get the other adults in the house to read the book so we can all be on the same page and moving in the same direction!Free book through GoodReads First R... moreeads.
review 2: Good book overall. This is really a 3.5 star. Some same concepts from "Have A New Kid By Friday" but I liked how Leman gave if-then examples. It was also written in a manner where I could understand how to put into practice the concepts of the book. Lastly, I liked the (albeit not deep) psychological background of behaviours (both mine and my child's) as well. Overall I finished the book more equipped to deal with my powerful child than when I began. less
