review 1: King Neptune had fifty mermaid daughters. Each one had a unique skill and gift. Unfortunately, Minnow could not find her niche. However, Minnow was good at asking plenty of questions and this caused her sister, Calypso to call her useless. Then, one day something new drifted Minnow's way. This caused Minnow to go on a journey to explore the unknown and get the answers to her questions. Once Minnow got her answers to her many questions, she wnet back to tell the others. Calypso was not impressed but her father was. He had found what Minnow was good at. If you are curious to find what is truly Minnow's niche, then you must read to find out. Intended Grade Level: Preschool-1st grade
review 2: Has all the qualities of a good fairy tale but is quite succinct. Minn
... moreow is one of King Neptune's many daughters. Each daughter has a skill or talent but all Minnow can do is ask questions. No one thinks this is special. Until she finds a red shoe and discovers where it comes from.Love the atmospheric illustrations with just a slight nod to Edward Gorey - just enough to give Minnow's world a sliver of darkness but not enough to take away the light. Little girls who love princess stories should love this. And parents will enjoy the ease of reading the story and that it is a story of substance. less

A nice selection for one on one reading, and for readers who like fairy tales or mermaids.
