review 1: I thought this book was a very easy read. Its only 200 or so pages so you'll probably finish it in a couple of days. That is if you actually get into the story. The beginning was a little fast paced which I usually like in books. Nothing really happened once she was selected to be in the Selection. It was really boring cause nothing interesting happened through out the entire book. Like she doesn't want to be there but then maybe she does but she still hates the place and you don't really learn anything from her, so it goes without saying that the characters in this book are pretty two dimensional. I really was expecting sooooo much more from this book. I know that this book could have been ten times better and that makes me so mad because this book had so much potential. ... moreIts supposed to be kind of like a reality show, but I have seen reality shows and they are much more entertaining than this book. All of this being said I will give the second book a go in hopes that the characters get some sort of depth to them. I really hope the second book doesn't disappoint as much as this one did.
review 2: This is an amazing book! I have read a lot if dystopian novels and series, but this is one of my favorites. The heroine is like able and relatable, someone you would want to have as a friend. There is a love triangle here, but where some are forced and obviously already resolved with no chance for one of the options (cough twilight cough), this one feel natural and really makes you feel how much she cares for both Maxon and Asher, and I love how you can see her feelings for Maxon growing over time. All around, a great love story! less
