review 1: I'm not really sure what the author/artist are going for at this point. I still love the art and I adored what they did in Young Avengers together, but the plot of this is all jumbled up and unclear. Maybe it will be an epic reveal at the end, but if I didn't already like these two I might have dropped the series at this point. The exchange between the two gods in the sewer with the girl god in particular were so confusing. She has multiple personalities? They're fighting about what exactly? I need to actually know the characters before I can care about what their conflict is.
review 2: Another fantastic issue. This one introduces the Morrigan, who's multiple kinds of crazy, and has her arguing with Baphomet, who's a complete ass. There's a particularly violent
... more edge to this issue. It's not that it's actually more violent - the first issue did have multiple heads explode, after all - it's that the tone feels more violent. And it's really cool. Gillen's got plenty more sharp dialogue. And McKelvie still has the best eye for fashion in all of comics. This is a fantastic series. less
