review 1: It seems like Kim Dare writes the same story over and over. Here's yet another one where a Dom and sub fall in love after twenty minutes of knowing each other, and their kinks are 100 percent matched. Oh, and all that pontificating about what a REAL Dom is, and what TRUE submission is. You can also add the usual overuse of epithets, to the point where I forget the main characters' names, what with them being called just "the dominant" and "the submissive" most of the time.
review 2: Theo is a young man looking for a little fantasy fulfillment on Valentines Day. He's had dreams about the BDSM scene, but this is the first time he's entered the club to act on them. He has all the gear, and no idea what he's getting into.McCormack is an experienced dom who apparent
... morely has been without his own sub for quite some time. On Valentine's Day, McCormack receives a message from the club owner's sub, Bret, that the owner wants McCormack to 'break in' a new sub - Theo. McCormack takes on the task of introducing the clueless Theo to what it means to be a submissive, only as things progress he finds himself falling for the young man, who despite having 'no idea' is truly the kind of submissive McCormack wants and needs. Only Theo is another man's sub, right? You'd have to be an idiot not to see that McCormack and Theo have been set up by Bret. The author has a knack for making plot twists obvious, but still delivering a powerful story in spite of it. There's a lot of drama when it all comes out, but you should know this author always delivers a happily ever after ending. This is a very 'steamy' description of a single night. While the action is hot, there's no actual sex until the very end. What we have instead is a prolonged seduction, of sorts, in a very BDSM fashion, which has Theo falling hard for his new master. It's a very interesting scene, since it's not all that extreme from a BDSM standpoint, but it is surprisingly powerful. This is apparently the second book in a series. I didn't realize that when I bought it, but it became clear there was a little back-story to Bret that was missing. However, it didn't detract from the overall read, so if the first book doesn't appeal, you can read the second without really missing anything. less
