review 1: Picked this up at random, off the shelves at the library. What a great read! I had a hard time putting it down, so I'll say that it's a quick read - Writing is fantastic too! The plot revolves around Kelly, a woman in her 50's that has to figure out what to do with her life after her much older and wealthy husband, Mark passes away. She mistakenly enters a ballroom dancing studio after grocery shopping in her exclusive, gated community and ends up taking a free class..... This free class takes her to an entirely different world, that of ballroom dancing. Kelly is also a hospice volunteer and that gets blended into the story as well. If you are looking for something light but really well written, read this - you won't be disappointed.
review 2: I enjoyed (a
... morend identified with) the premise that something like ballroom dance can unexpectedly pull you out a funk. (For me it was yoga.) And, without giving spoilers, I appreciated that it didn't veer into a dumb, happy-ending romance: I'm awarding it a full extra star for that reason. Also, I read it at the beginning of the SYTYCD season, so I was in a dance-y mood and paid close attention to all the detail about heels and toes and frame. less

It's an entertaining soap opera of a book. Good for the beach/plane/pool side.

Not too bad of a story but the beginning is a bit slow.
