review 1: I have LOVED this series and I think this one was my favorite yet! Lane Parker has been keeping a painful secret for 4 long years (not even Audrey knows). I never saw this twist coming ... and even when the secret was discovered I was still astonished at the very end. Kimberly Lauren you are amazing! Raegan has been through so much in her short life yet her commitment to Kate and Braden was unbelievable. I'm so glad this series was recommended to me.
review 2: The beginning is slow. I'm skimming through most of the fighting scenes because it's boring. Even the meeting of the girl was ok. I'm still waiting for the story to begin. Nothing too compelling to read. I have not yet found a connection with any of the characters. Lots of characters are introduced,
... morealmost too many. The focus should remain on a few to help the reader stay focused. I find myself daydreaming while reading this. I bought this story because of the price and I had read "Beautiful Broken Rules" and thought I would like this one the same. Not sure how it received 4 and 5 star ratings. Maybe we did not read the same story. The writing is too juvenile. Raegan is insecure and continues to over analyze every word Lane says. Lane is supposed to be twenty-nine,but the author has made him sound immature. Hard to believe he once was in the police force. Writing style is lacking. The story is predictable and cheesy. You can tell it's written from a woman's perspective. The story did not need to be that long. The author is doing a horrible job of over doing the sexual chemistry between Lane and Raegan. Every chapters does not need to detail every encounter of them having intercourse. Now it's like she is trying to turn the detective story into an erotic story. It's all over the place. It was a great concept, but over done. It was unrealistic the way the story unfolded. The girls at the bar were caddy and it was unnecessary to reintroduce Gemma back in the story when it's clear that Lane and Raegan have already claimed each other. It's redundant.A little dramatic and over the top with compliments for women baring children with men. The author is trying to make all these guys sound amazing when in reality it hardly ever occurs this way in life. Keep on dreaming and writing your fabricated stories. I could not wait for the ending. I did not like it. less
