review 1: I purchased this e-book as a kindle deal. I'll admit - I was attracted to the title and the setting. What I liked about the book: good description of Louisiana places, food,and culture.The author did a great job with this, and the book provides a lot of information in that area. What I did not like: the characters. I found them shallow and of limited lexicon. However, in all honesty, this book might appeal to someone younger than me. Two and a half stars.
review 2: I downloaded this book as a freebie,I thought the concept of it was pretty intriguing and because it takes place in LA, I thought it would be fun.It was awful. It was inaccurate. It was wholly unbelievable.I find I'm giving books too much of a chance to get better. When I find myself not liking a ... morestory, I think, "Certainly it must get better," and I continue to invest through reading. This time the book never got better, in fact it got dumber.Don't waste your time. less
