When this showed up in the mail, I was really reluctant to start it. Where You’ll Find Me is a middle-grade book, and I assumed it would be below my preferred reading level, but I was pleasantly surprised by the maturity of the writing and the characters.
With a few tweaks, this could easily go from a book for middle-graders to something firmly within the young adult novel. The characters were well-developed to begin with, but they all managed to grow throughout the short book.
The story reminds me a bit of Saving Francesca. Some parts were heartbreaking and others were delightfully cute.
I was incredibly pleased with Where You’ll Find Me. It only took me a couple of hours to finish but it’s stayed with me for days and now weeks afterwards.
I definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a sweet and realistic portrayal of struggles with adolescence and mental health.
