review 1: I received this book from Coliloquy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.I absolutely loved this book. It was awesome to be able to interact with the book and chose what the characters would do next. If you picked the wrong choice then the killer could get away. If you didn't pick a choice than the story wouldn't make much sense because you would be missing out on the information provided before. Sometimes I couldn't chose which one to pick and I just picked a random choice. I even kept on going back and forth to read what would have happened if I had chosen the other choice. There was so much action and adventure in this book, plus I loved the main character Celia. The writing style was amazing and I liked how the story was set in New Orleans (the history of New... more Orleans with ghosts etc was really cool). I read this book straight on through because it was so awesome. I managed to finish this book within a few hours because it is that good of a book.Celia was funny and she broke the rules a lot to try and find out who was the killer ( skipping school, lying to her mom etc.). She had help with her friends Luc, Tilly, and Donovan. Donovan's father is a detective and it was awesome reading about how Donovan used his father's connections to solve this case. Tilly is an awesome character too and i liked reading about her magical connections. I would highly recommend this book to anyone because it is definitely worth the read. I can't wait to read the next book!!
review 2: Thanks to Netgalley.com and Coliloquy for allowing me access to this title.I was unaware going into this that this was an interactive ebook. It was a pleasant surprise. However, I always feel like I'm missing out on other options that I don't choose when I have to pick one. I'm a pretty indecisive person, so I like to know what I'm getting into before I choose. It was a fun concept though.I thought the story itself was ok. I felt like there was too much going on and I didn't have a great connection between the letter she got and the mystery she was solving, but I probably missed something somewhere that would have linked it together. Or I just don't get it. I also didn't feel like the MC had as great of relationships with her friends as she felt she did. At one point she said she was closer to these friends than she had ever been to any of her other friends, but I didn't see how unless she really didn't have friends before, which was not the case.Overall this was fun for a new experience. less
