review 1: Ever since loving The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I've noticed Swedish writers more. This book had good reviews so I thought I would give it a shot. Hmmmm.... Well, I took another reviewers advice and read to page 100 in hopes the story lines would pick up. But even though it did get better after page 100, it never really picked up for me. Many books pull me in and I don't want them to end. This was not one of those books.
review 2: Actually, I didn't read it! Unusually for me I gave up on it. I tried and tried and tried, and just couldn't get into it. I gave it some time as I found the first Jo Nesbo tough going but it eventually turned out a good read and his books got better & better, but this didn't. I didn't care about the characters and I just found i... moret really hard going, it didn't flow at all and there was just so much description - it was a little like the author was trying too hard to fit in every descriptive phrase possible and forgot about the story. less
