review 1: Another winer by the illustrious illustrator Dan Santat. Gosh but I love his art style. I've been a huge fan since I read Sidekicks a little over a year ago. The story, by K. L. Going is cute and spot on. Young kids will enjoy the hide and seek elements and older kids (particularly those with younger siblings) will sympathize with dog, tasked with the impossible, being responsible for other people's behavior. review 2: Dog in Charge is a book about some owners that leave their dog home to watch their four cats. Once the owners leave, the cats start to destroy the house. The dog is worried that he will not a treat when he gets home if the house is a mess. Once the cats realize that they are upsetting the dog, they feel bad and help put the house back together. T... morehe owners return home and the dog gets a treat. I really enjoyed this book and loved the illustrations I thought they were quite humorous. I think it would be useful in a younger elementary level classroom for a lesson about treating others with respect. It would be a great book I would just keep in the classroom as well. less
