review 1: 2.5Amusing in a simplistic, insubstantial way. There wasn't much here. A couple OK sex scenes, some over the top snark, and a lot of aimless, self-created mess that passed for action. Meh. I thought Kirit's good-natured (if grumpy), borderline dim-wittedness was pretty adorable and the other dragons were interesting side kicks. Cody however grated on just about every nerve I have. But then, overly mouthy characters that mysteriously get away with aggressing on power figures who would otherwise crush disrespectful persons always annoy me. Essentially, I was disappointed with a lot of aspect of the book, but still managed to enjoy it on the most base levels.
review 2: I must admit I'm rather torn on this one.Overall its an interesting idea. I loved the mystical r
... moreealm theme, although I certainly didn't understand a thing regarding the palace politics, or exactly what the Fae are. A little more world building would be nice. For instance we hear the palace dwellers called nobles but there seem to be no other dwellers except the soldiers. We never meet any workers for want of a better word. Who supplies the palace with food and clothing? Not to mention Seamus seems to almost despise his people or at least the nobles. I was left wondering why. Seamus is far to confusing at this stage. I'm assuming we will get to know him in later stories.Kirit is adorable. He is everything I love in my dragon fics. Strong but lovable, fierce but cute. I loved him to pieces. The other dragons I can't wait to get to know better. Especially Raven and Nyx. Chaos we got a pretty good look at and he certainly seems the most fun lol. But Cody? I just couldn't find myself caring much for him. He annoyed me most of the time, and when I wasn't annoyed I was frustrated with him. He was just a character I just couldn't find myself drawn too. He just hit a lot of my dislike buttons including he was a little too fixated with sex for my taste. Not that this book is over whelmed by the sex scenes, but Cody sure thinks about it a lot. I think I'd of rather seen Harper as the other lead. I do hope he makes more appearances. This book also had a fair amount of editing errors. From continuity errors and the mixed up or extra words to a name mix up towards the end. Nothing too major but enough to cause me to pause and re read sentences over. It's always hard for me to rate a book that leaves me with such mixed emotions but I'm going to say its more a 3.5 but edging towards a 4 for the pure joy of Kirit.Oh and while Kirit and Cody's story is pretty much done, there are plenty of unanswered questions left for the following books. less

I honestly didn't get the point of the story. It felt like there wasn't a plot to the whole thing.

Entertaining and light-hearted. Not complicated, not deep, but fun romp.

Had me when one reviewer used the phrase 'fun romp'. Here's hoping.
