review 1: Wasn't bad. I liked the way it started out but it seemed like it turned into an entirely different story. I got that connection to the two characters in the opening chapter, Kayden and David, but that was it. The characters introduced later in the story just weren't all that exciting. I think if this had been a short story, stopping in Chapter 1 before the last scene at Kayden's home, it would have been worthy of four, maybe even five, stars.
review 2: Hmmmm..what to say about "Soulmate".....???? It hits the ground running...and then stumbles.Kayden's had a horrific childhood, but his big brother Hunter has always been there to save him. But Kayden's heart is yearning for what he can't have, and it's tearing him apart. Kayden is a very sympathetic character, bu
... moret he's buried too deeply in melodrama and angst. The story has a very disconnected feel to it. It reads like a series of random episodes that don't really go anywhere: Kayden hooks up at a bar, Hunter gets a girlfriend, Kayden meets Jacob...Then it gets weird(er)...the brothers get kidnapped, then they escape, then..in a truly mind-boggling scene with Kayden, Hunter has a meltdown: "...this was a stupid idea." "No, it's not your fault!" "It is my fault!" "I don't know what I'm doing." WTF???...and then Kayden rides off into the sunset.Reader whiplash is never a good thing.... less
