review 2: I really wanted to like this book a lot because the characters were funny and interesting and story was good. But the hero left me cold because as "hot" as he was, he was absolutely certain that she was wrong, he was right, and she needed to change. Without going into the whole plot, it all came down to her "growth" which is fine if he's perfect, but he never did treat her very nicely, not when they were together the first time or the second time. He wouldn't listen to her or adapt or change. Also, I just felt like if they could stop yelling and just talk, then they could work it out since they were obviously in love, but they couldn't and that means to me that they probably don't belong together. But whatever. I just didn't like how much he expected from her without giving anything of himself except love...no compromise on when they'd get married, no discussion of where they'd live, and every time she tried to explain he just accused her of not having enough faith in "them." Like I said, I wanted to like it a whole lot more. There's something I could say about the ending, but I don't want to accidentally include spoilers so I won't. less

Ugh I was not that into this book. I like Kristan Higgins a lot. She's hilarious and a lot of her male characters do it for me but i could not get behind Nick. I think I'm holding a grudge against him from their first marriage but he sounded like a big jerk! He worked too much and then couldn't figure out why things weren't working and they 'fall in love' all over again but I don't really see any changes in his character that show he's any less selfish than he was before. Maybe I just don't believe in the whole premise of the book: that the second time around the marriage will work. meh!
