review 1: Our button lady is not on her own her. She is not wandering around as a loose cannon but with her policeman boyfriend is being care full. This is not how most of the amateur sleuths operate. They blunder all over asking dumb questions and drawing attention to their lack of awareness of the danger. This series so far has matured and maybe will continue to grow into a more intelligent amateur mundane who with the police can solve the riddles that they fall into.
review 2: I really like this series!! This same author writes the Pepper Martin mysteries as Casey Daniels and they're among my favorite series. When this series started I wondered how in the world you could make buttons interesting. Well, I've really enjoyed the bits of info I've picked up in these... more books! The characters are good in this series and I enjoyed the stuff about the town under (in?) the reservoir. Anyway, first rate read and looking forward to #4! RECOMMEND!! less
