review 1: "I believe there are only three things we can count on to make this world bearable: good friends, a loving family (even when they're as crazy as mine) and certain mood-altering substances, mainly caffeine and vodka." I fell in love with this book with the third sentence. This book is part of an on-going saga (of which I have read none), but Sophie and her kooky friends are entertaining as all get out. I don't understand some of the personal drama between Sophie and her lover it would seem previous books are necessary for that, but it is not essential to the telling of the tale. It took me forever to read this book only because my dog stole it and hid it under the couch. Apparently I was enjoying it too much and it interfered with his plans for a walk.
