review 1: The illustrations by Lane Smith are cool (according to my 7-year-old grandson). President Lincoln's ghost was sad because he didn't know how things turned out after he died. After a girl tells him that the United States is still united and people are becoming more equal and that we are working on getting along without fighting, President Lincoln is happy. He is especially happy to see that we have landed on the moon!A good book to share about President Lincoln's life and personality (including his love of "sick" jokes).

I don't love the pictures, I think it is trying to look like it is old fashion tintype, or withered old pictures or some pages look like the seams and lines in our money (might just be the green hues that make me think this way). The story fine, the book is fine, and if you need a different way of looking at Lincoln then here it is! less

The illustrations are neat, but the words in all the different typeface are distracting.
