review 1: Okay, can I just say, that I thought this book was really well done. I loved that she went through with what she said she was going to do, by not allowing both to live. That being said I wish that she had left it at that, there doesn't need to be another book about how he tries to but again fails to save her. What Corinthe did for him and his sister was amazing and the fact that she did it for love was amazing as well, considering the fact that she never knew what love was till him. I love the way that it was written and that it was a one day read. I loved that the end was so that you had enough closer that I don’t feel that I have to read the next book I can leave it where it is and be okay. A thought that I had about the book was that it would be cool if the marble th... moreat she lost, the fate that was never fulfilled could be that his mother was never stopped from going out that day and because she was never stopped she died. So it was Corinthe’s fault that Luc lost his mother.
review 2: Fates started out with so much potential. The premise is intriguing, a Fallen Fate having to redeem herself by making sure fates are carried out in Humana, or Earth. If the whole book had been about Corinthe finding herself and focused more on her journey as a Fate and executor, I would have LOVED this book. Instead, the author introduced a terrible insta-love plot that made ZERO sense and was unrealistic. I was never convinced these two even like each other, since they only met for about 2 days before deciding they would be in love forever. Insta-love is maybe my biggest pet peeves in books and it's one trend I wish would just die already. I was a sucker for a pretty cover, but this book mostly just disappointed me. I also felt like the nickname Luc was awful I kept reading it as "Luck" instead of "Luke". Why didn't she just call him Luke? I felt it was distracting, and silly. I guess with all the other problems in this book, the name Luc was probably the least of them. I want to say I'll give the second book a chance, but honestly I don't even think this was worthy of a sequel or a series. less

This book was just okay to me. I did like the two main characters but I mostly skimmed through it.
