review 1: 2.5 stars.I want to start off by saying I love Lara Adrian and her books. They are one of my favourite books, which made me excited to read this story. However, I was disappointed. I know it's a short story, but it could have been so much more. The basics were there for an amazing story, with love, mystery and fantasy. However, this book was far too short, and I hated the ending. I was expecting a least a few more chapters, so I was really shocked when it ended, just like that. The story wasn't concluded, and we don't even find out why a main part of the story happened. It was like Adrian got bored of writing it and just decided to stop.It is such a shame, because this had the makings of a great book. I actually thought the characters were interested and wanted to know them... more better. For a short story, this is not the best I've read.
review 2: Short story FAIL.This is why I hate short stories. Either nothing happens or, as was the case in this one, the author tries to cram an entire novel into a few pages. It's a little hard to feel anything but a massive urge to roll your eyes at characters madly in love and promising to be together forever when they only met three pages ago. The whole thing just felt ridiculous, despite the fact that this story could have potential - if it weren't all crammed in to such a short space. less
