review 1: A fun thriller with our main character Michael backpacking through China, trying to find his missing father and figure out what he was up to when he disappeared. We gradually learn both about Michael's character and about the father-son relationship as he follows clues concerning a hidden piece of Nazi technology that too many people are willing to kill over. Meanwhile, a plutonium bearing Chinese satellite is heading toward Los Angeles as its orbit decays. Can Michael trust those offering to help him? Was his father betrayed? The race is on... Nice peek into a strange and fascinating country, with a nice twist at the end.I received the book for free through Goodreads.
review 2: SUMMARY: A Chinese satellite is on crash course with Earth. It contains enough plut
... moreonium to irradiate a large city. And that's the good news...In the tradition of Tom Clancy, Michael Crichton, and Robert Ludlum, comes a new hero.Michael Chase is a twenty-six year old backpacker, a recent college grad, an amateur. He flew to Hong Kong to find his missing father. Four hours later, he's running for his life. The Chinese Secret Police want him dead. The Conspiracy wants him dead. And the one person who he thinks is on his side, may want him dead too. If Michael is going to live, he'll need to find a hidden piece of Nazi technology lost since World War II. And he'll have to do it before anyone else. Because if he doesn't, a little plutonium is going to be the least of his problemsREVIEW: This is a secular read, but other than one intimate scene is a very clean read. If you like James Bond type books with lots of action, chills, spills, suspense, and twists and turns, then you will definitely like this one. I could certainly see it being turned into a great movie. The setting plays well into the plot line as Michael moves from Hong Kong to China to VietNam. I enjoyed Michael's reflections on how he developed abilities and character traits through his relationship with his father. Not my usual genre but I definitely enjoyed this book.FAVORITE QUOTES: "Because honor isn't about doing what's popular. It's about doing what's right.""Because we all got afraid, the difference was what we did with it.""...it taught Michael an important lesson. Sometimes to move forward, you needed to take a step back." less

Se me hizo un poco lento, me imaginaba algo mas de suspenso.
