review 1: At first I read only about 50 pages of this, then read several other books inbetween until I continued with this and devoured it in two evenings. This was the best one so far in the Joona Linna series. A very fast-paced thriller with a good plot. I really had to read to the end to find out who the killer had been and I was caught by a surprise! I liked this one especially as we got more information on Joona's personal life and past and on his character as a policeman. He's like Lucky Luke of murder investigations, one who doesn't listen to others but to himself and the dead. The references to Joona being born in Finland are cute. The writers really know their Finnishness.
review 2: Detective Joona Linna is on suspension while internal affairs investigates a com
... moreplaint against him, but when he is asked to go to the scene of a double killing at a home for troubled girls as an observer, he gets more involved than any expected. He does not believe that the girls the local police believe did it and all the evidence agrees, he still pursues his own investigation, even talking to and believing (with a grain of salt) the tales of a self proclaimed medium. There are twists and turns to this tale and the true story is not revealed till the end. The second book by the authors (man and wife) was a good as the first one I read. less

I thought the third installment was just as good as the first two. Fast paced and full of action.
