review 1: When I began to read this I thought I mistakenly got a Young Adult Religious Fiction book. There are so many references to religion in the form of lessons it became rather frustrating. There is very little action & what action there is is not scary. I've read much better Young Adult novels & much better Religious fiction novels then this. The final solution they stumble across felt unearned and frankly a bit nonsensical. That said, Bickle's writing style continues to impress and she has a talent for building believable emotional connections between characters, particularly with the unlikely romance at the core of the story. less

Shortly after my last update the pace picked up and the book seemed to refocus. Nice ending.
