review 1: An OK book in my opinion. Cute and fast paced, but nothing remarkable. This book follows the story of thirty-two year old Annie Adams, a photographer happy with her life in Los Angeles, her job and her boyfriend of five years. Things go down when Nick breaks up with Annie, so he can persue another woman. Sadness leads Annie to a bar, where she meets Griffin, a chef. Annie inmediately feels connected to Griffin, as he seems to be everything she wants in a man. Deciding not to talk about the past, they establish a relationship. Three months later, Griffin has to go back to his hometown and proposes to Annie. She agrees and they go to live to Massachusetts, where Griffin opens his own restaurant.Things get complicated when Annie meets Griffin's mom, who treats her badly, and G... moreia, Griffin's ex-girlfriend who doesn't seem to have fully let go. A small town life is not something that Annie feels comfortable with, seeing how much she doesn't share with Griffin's past.In addition, Nick shows up, wanting Annie back in his life. Thoughts start cripping in Annie's mind: did she make a mistake, rushing into this new relationship?I liked the book, but the pacing was a little bit fast at times, confusing the crap out of me. The characters and situations are real and believable. It's easy to like Annie and Griffin, adults who aren't messing around, despite how quickly they got together in the first place. Jesse, Griffin's brother and Jordan, Nick's sister and Annie's BFF, are also likeable characters. Nick didn't seem like a big thing, but I didn't hate him.A quick read, for those who love chick lits!
review 2: it was ok~ i didn't think that the characters were well developed and i just don't think a girl done wrong is going to leave her pup behind ;) but it turned out alright in the end i guess. pretty no-brainer and follows a formula.... didn't seem overly realistic and lack details after they arrived on the east coast. how can you NOT know what is in your own bedroom?!?!? Yes, i understand the idea to show that she didn't fir or belong at that time, but come on!and why did the author throw the random Caleb in at the bar in London? Because one chance encounter with a man will set you back on the path to make your decision? MEH..... less
