review 1: The story premise was so promising, but the characters sucked all of the joy of reading it. They were so bland and emotionless, barely expressing a peep over what was supposed to be some great whirlwind romance or love lost. Also... for some reason... I immediately pictured Nick as a flamboyant, theatrical, gesticulating caricature of a gay man when he was first introduced. (Thinking Jack from "Will and Grace") Perhaps it's the way he is described as talking with his hands or the overwrought way he explained himself. I really thought THAT was going to be the great reveal.
review 2: This book could have been edited better. When I first started reading the sentence structure was driving me crazy (thanks to my Harvard graduate English teacher), but then I got in... moreto the story and didn't care. This book is about finding the person that loves you through the good, the bad, and the crazy. This book made me grateful that the man I married still loves me despite all the crazy I have put him through. less
