review 1: Appartenendo il romanzo al genere thriller psicologico, devo ammettere che mantiene le promesse insinuando il dubbio e la difficoltà di capire quale sia il segreto da svelare fino alla fine. Peccato però che la scrittrice, per ottenere ciò abbia esagerato con le ripetizioni. Se da un lato infatti hanno reso lo stile ossessivo e alienante, alimentando il pathos nel lettore, dall'alta hanno impoverito la trama. In ogni caso il finale rimane molto " psicologico " lasciando celati molti punti e affidando al lettore una delle tante spiegazioni possibili.
review 2: I'm undecided about this one -it was definitely creepy, and the premise was intriguing, and I liked how it turned out at the end, but the writing was just weird. She used as many exclamation points as... more I do in writing emails to my aunt and that just felt a little off for a novel. Maybe she was trying to get at hysteria? But between that and a lot of the same phrases and descriptions being repeated over and over, it was a bit much. But I read it in an evening, almost straight through, so it obviously had something going for it! less
