review 1: Zeph is constantly tormented by his younger brother Eurus. During one of theirmore recent fight he lets his emotions get the better of him & a violent storm hits the waters....right when Ella is on her boat trying to say goodbye to her late twin by distributing his ashes at sea. After regaing some composure, Zeph notices a faint life signature & rushes to it knowing its his loss of temper that caused it. He gets Ella to safety only to overhear on the hospital she has no relatives to care for her once she's released. Zeph sticks around out of guilt...and something about her is drawing him in. But he is concerned she's a set up from Eurus just to hurt him again.
review 2: This was a good book, but it didn't grab me and keep me riveted to the story. I'm not even ... moresure why. I liked Ella. She was a tragic heroine, had lost her family including her twin brother. She was recently divorced from a cheating husband and the best friend whom he cheated with. After all this, she was still fighting to live. Zeph on the other hand was a beaten man/God and he pretty much stayed that way. I like my heros Alpha, and this God didn't have an alpha bone in his body. He had a bunch of loss and betrayal but instead of fighting, he was kept giving up. He kind of reminded me of a kicked puppy. Complete turn off to me. Again, the writing was good, there was some steamy scenes, some action, likable side characters, great recipe for a book but kind of fell flat for me. 2.5 stars. less
