review 1: Finally finished this yesterday, and I'm not sure I've ever read such a smutty book for young adults (ironically, super smutty without a single love scene). I didn't like any of the Elizabeths and the misogynism was to the point of annoyance rather than righteous indignation. I didn't really feel that any of these girls had a good head on her shoulders. I only finished it because I hoped it would get better. I feel there are far better books out there for court intrigue such as LaFever's His Fair Assassin series.
review 2: This was my first Stuart Dynasty novel, and I really enjoyed it! I'm a new fan of Charles II so I was really excited to dive into this book. While I read some reviews saying this book was a little slow, I have to disagree. I thought the s
... moretory lines of the three main female characters were all interesting in their own right, and I found myself anxious to read more the whole time. By the end of the book, I was emotionally attached to them, which made a particularly sad execution even sadder for me. I found myself cheering for Zabby especially, who sets her sights on the King and falls in love with him - despite his many affairs with other court ladies, as well as the fact that he's a married man. Overall, the story lines were interesting and kept my attention, which is more than I can say about many of the recent Tudor novels I've picked up! I'd definitely recommend this book. less

This was a very strange book. I didn't really understand the ending but it was okay.

All anyone talked about was sex. And it got annoying. At least someone dies.

This is just an alright book. I have nothing against it. That's all.
