Review: This book is so enchanting and definitely subverts the Wolf As Trickster archetype. And, let’s get real–Barnett and Klassen are an incredible duo that absolutely cannot be stopped. With Barnett’s fun fantastical narrative and Klassen’s collage and minimalist illustrations, they weave a story together out of something a little left of plum. I love that they made me abandon my realist senses for a few minutes, and so effortlessly, too. This is definitely a book worth reading to your children, to yourself, and to anybody who’s willing to listen. It’s so so worth it.
