review 1: Theo is my kind of kid heroine--mature beyond her years and marches to a very original drum beat. Midway through this book, I found myself thinking this was so much more than an adolescent read. The art history would be beyond the ken of most middle schoolers I've taught. That being said, a few kids' faces came to mind, and I knew they would love it. That endeared the book to me--not for everyone but adored by a few.

I thought this was a suspenseful mystery book. I enjoyed the fact that it took place in NYC.
