review 1: I remember when The Hills series finale aired on TV, there was quite a number of angry viewers as the final scene showed that the ending was scripted. LA Candy shows a similar theme as it tells the story of 4 characters and how their reality is manipulated into this forced friendship mainly for the sake of television. Add in the fact that it's written by one of the characters on that show, you realize that the show was in all probability scripted.Did I watch the Hills when it was on tv? Yes. Did I love it? No. I watched it because it served as some sort of guilty pleasure and a way to pass time. LA Candy is the same way.

... morery merit but I don't think anyone picks this up thinking so. It's dumb & slightly entertaining. I haven't finished anything lately and just wanted to read something that required no brain power: this fit the bill and I finally finished a book this month. Mission accomplished. less
