review 1: At an early age Nina Reyes and her little brother became orphans and rather than be separated by the state they ran. Nina learned how to take care of herself and her brother by any means necessary and then he was bitten by a werewolf. When her brother shows up needing help and the Enforcer of his pack is looking for him what is Nina going to do? Lex Warden and his brother Cade are trying to figure out why money has gone missing from the pack coffers and then one of their members is killed and the only person that may know anything is Gabriel Reyes but he has disappeared. The only lead Lex has is the Gabriel's older sister and she is a crazy spinster looking woman who points a shot gun at him.I remember a conversation a while back where the topic was that the female charact... moreers were a bit wimpy and all too willing to cower behind their men and let them fight the battle for them and how nice it would be to see the female give as good as she gets and willing to step up and fight the good fight. I can honestly say this book delivers just that and poor Lex is left shaking his head in frustration. Between the arguments, fights, and the hot, steamy bedroom scenes you will never be bored with this book. There are so many great quotes in this book that I had a really hard time picking any favorites but I did choose two; one from each of Nina and Lex.“First she poked me in the chest! Then she told me that Rey showed up at her place—said he was being threatened by the Pack who wanted to kill him, grabbed some cash and took off. Then she told me to get out of there or she’d shoot me. I look down and she’s got a shotgun planted in my crotch and the meanest look I’ve ever seen on a human on her face. She called me wolf boy, slammed the door in my face. Oh! And flipped me off when I was driving away,” --Lex“Yeah? Too late to complain, you bought the cow, even though I’d have let you milk me at least five more times.”--NinaI do wish the cover was a little more exciting but it was enough to get me to look this book last year; while the book's blurb was also enough to get me buy this book and, boy, am I glad I got this book.
review 2: Don't you just love it when a book takes you by surprise?! I was expecting this book to be hot, to have shifters in it and more Alpha Males than you can poke a stick at. What I wasn't expecting is a story with characters that are both fascinating and immensely likeable, who react to situations and information in ways that you can empathise with and above all, a main female who will make me laugh out loud more times than I can remember. This book has some great supporting characters too and a different take on the whole fated mate storyline. Now I know from other reviews that some readers found the "magical cum" off-putting and the rules of the Werewolf Society were too harsh for them. For me personally though, I loved the magical cum and really, why should mixing blood be any any better than that? It's only because people have got used to reading about blood mixing that no one goes "Ewwww" about that anymore. And the Werewolf Society rules are an integral part of the story and go to show how Nina feels and copes with the violent situation. There is also ONE sex scene that involves a threesome. This is fully explained and dealt with very tastefully but once again, if any of the above might ruin your delicate constitution then this probably isn't the book for you. Definitely a book I loved reading and the rest are now on my T-B-R list, to be read as soon as possible! I need to know more about the Cascadia Pack!! less

Bleh. Loved Nina being a hacker florist, but Lex reminded me of a sheep in wolves clothing.

The plot was simple, and it was hard to be drawn into the book.
