review 1: Normally I’m really big on short story prequels and in between stories. This one isn’t anything I’d consider needed when it comes to the series. The actual short story is titled The First Bride. This gives you a look into what life was like for Rowan and Rose when she was still alive. Out of the 77 pages I think it lasted about 10 of them. No new information just a little back story. The rest of the content consists of a Fever sneak peak, link to a photo shoot, and a map of the wive’s floor inside the mansion. It wasn’t much to be honest but the map and little short story wasn’t terrible. I think it was more for the second books publicity than anything else.
review 2: I didn't like the fact that this novella had chapters from wither and fever. The mat
... moreerial that it did had was very very short. I did enjoy reading it. My favorite line in the book was "When I can no longer stay awake, I have a beautiful dream that I’ve tripped and fallen into the green of my husband’s eyes. And while I’m there, he marries three beautiful muses who adore him and sing him songs. If only I could make Linden understand, I’d tell him that’s where I’d like to be. I’d like to die and be forever in all that green. I’d wait for him there."Looking forward to reading Sever. less

This short story was a lot shorter than I expected. Was so so, not particularly enlightening.

Aw, poor Rose. It was nice to read more about her, but it wasn't anything special.
