review 1: I'm read this as a prequel to reading Teardrop so I went into this without any knowledge of Teardrop at all as I've been purposely avoiding reading any review of it as I wanted to go into it fresh, something I didn't do when reading Lauren Kate's Fallen series.What we have is a short prequel story about one of Teardrop's main characters Ander, he's approaching his eighteenth birthday and The Passage, a ritual where he leaves behind his childhood and becomes a Seedbearer.With no knowledge of Teardrop this gave me a sneak-peek into the world and into Ander, who I'm sure I will learn much about during the course of reading Teardrop. You can already see he's head over heels for Eureka, the lead character in Teardrop, who he had been tasked with watching and who is going to do ... moresomething really bad in the future, something involving crying. Ander doesn't want to leave his childhood behind as it would mean leaving his very strong feelings for Eureka behind him along with all vestiges of childhood, including his dog. This novella tells the story of Ander's Passage to be being a full-blown seedbearer (seedbearers have special abilities that can control the wind, I'm sure there will be more than just that though).This novella is just an insight into the world of Teardrop but you do get a good insight into Ander's character and the goings-on in his head. You feel how he feels for Eureka and why he's not able to fully give them up during his Passage. You get a brief insight into his family and into what being a Seedbearer is exactly but I'm sure during the course of Teardrop more will be explained, or at least I hope it will. I'll be reading Teardrop next so will get to find out more about Ander and Eureka and the world they live in and what exactly Eureka is supposed to do in the future that Ander is supposed to prevent (curious... curious!) and this novella has just whetted my appetite for it, I'm very excited to get into it.If you have read Teardrop then this novella will make a great addition to the world and is definitely worth a read in my opinion although it is hard for me to comment to much as I haven't read Teardrop myself yet but I can say I did enjoy reading Last Day Of Love myself.
review 2: Precuela de La última lágrima, Last day of love nos relata la historia de Ander antes del comienzo de esta novela. En este pequeño fragmento que no llega a las 60 páginas, pues en estas está incluido el primer capítulo de la novela, se nos profundiza algo más en el personaje de Ander, en su vida, en la vida de los Portadores de la simiente, los que ya salen en La última lágrima a pesar de que yo no les haya dado importancia en la reseña para explicároslo (un poco y sin spoilers aquí).Estos son descencientes de Leander, protagonista que aparece en El libro del amor, el libro que Diana deja en herencia a Eureka en la primera parte de la saga. Se encargan de evitar que la Atlántida resurja y harán lo que sea para conseguir su cometido. En estas pocas páginas que nos cuenta como Ander tiene que pasar por el Passage, o Pasaje, para dejar sus sentimientos atrás y poder convertirse en un auténtico Portador de la simiente, conseguir todos los secretos que su familia le ha ocultado.Lo que más me ha gustado de aquí ha sido conocer el pasado de esta "secta" tan pintoresca y poder conocer más a Ander, sus sentimientos por Eureka, de como tiene que dejar su amor atrás y no solo su amor, sino también a su mascota (he sufrido con esa parte). Se ve como está enfrentado en su interior con su familia. Como bien indica el título, Last day of love, indica este último día de amor de Ander por Eureka y como su meta ya está decidida; matarla, punto en el que comienza La última lágrima. less
