review 1: Quite an interesting book! Enjoyed the first book immensely, and now reading the second one. Sometimes the detail to each life is more than I actually want to read. I love the chart the author provided, which allows the reader to remember characters from the previous lives and look for those same people in her current life. An absolutely good read. The only thing that kept me from giving this book a 5-star rating was that I felt each life section was too long, and I found myself wanting to get into Maya's "next" life.
review 2: A unique premise and excellent writing made this book an intriguing read. While I didn't bother to follow the schematic after each fascinating and fully realized life to see which person incarnated into which role, I may go back and re
... moread it again with the schematic in mind. The first read was enjoyable in and of itself. The characters were vivid individuals whose choices made perfect psychological sense. The historical details were unique to the circumstances of the main characters, details that only historians specializing in that era would ordinarily know. Clearly the writer did her research and was very discerning in choosing the exact particulars that would tie the character to their time period and breathe life into them and their history. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series. less
