review 1: The premise of this series could be seen as silly and ridiculous - a walking, talking skeleton? But I love it. I was captured by the first book and have thoroughly enjoyed this second book. The writing is good, the relationships between the characters is good, and of course there is the skeletal humor. Not everything has to be serious in life. I find that when I pick up one of these books, I don't want to put it down. It's okay to suspend belief for a while.
review 2: I have to lead this review with the talking skeleton Sid, who is adjunct professor Georgia's best friend. Georgia's daughter Madison borrows Sid's head to use as a prop for the high school production of Hamlet, and forgets him backstage over night. While there, Sid overhears a murder. He ... morewas positioned so he couldn't see the killer, but he heard his voice. The whole backstory of why the skeleton talks and lives with Georgia is in the first book of the series. Georgia's investigations put her and Madison in jeopardy. I do like the writing and the characters, but I have a lot of trouble dealing with Sid. less
