review 1: Lemony Snicket kills in this children's book about the murder of the composer. Illustrated by Carson Ellis, the intelligent and handsome detective attempts to solve the mystery by interviewing the instruments in the orchestra. Snicket demonstrates each instrument's character. "...the First Violins, who have the trickier parts to play, and the Second Violins, who are more fun at parties." There is an accompanying CD with music by Nathaniel Stookey and the book narrated by Lemony Snicket. I seldom listen to audio books, so I have very little to compare this to, but the narration is probably the most entertaining that I have heard. I am unsure of the appropriate age to recommend this book for. Kids in Kindergarten would enjoy this being read to them, though they would... moren't recognize any of the instruments or composers mentioned, nor would they understand the phrase, "butchered a composer". That is the realm that Lemony Snicket writes in, children's books that can be appreciated by all ages.
review 2: i LOVED listening to this book. it was amazing!if u ever get the book, it may come with a CD at the last page of the book.Lemony snicket is rlly funny to listen to. he adds random comments in the middle of his books or when he is narrating.Btw, this book has so much interesting music. its funny too. he sometimes added things that were not in the book when he was narrating. i am very tempted to say this.......Lemony Snicket's real name is daniel handler....... less

Cute, punny story; the narrated CD was a bonus perk.
