review 1: Suspense romances are my favorite type of stories and I did enjoy this book very much. I didn't like the ending. It just didn't seem true to form the way that Logan acted when Amanda needed someone with her.The story line was interesting and I liked the way Lena Diaz developed the characters. The killer wasn't reveled too soon and there were interesting exchanges between the two main characters.I would give it 4 1/2 stars if possible.
review 2: The 80% of the book 4/5 stars, the end 2 starsI so wanted to like this book... in addition it had so much potential on the plot and romance parts. It is evident from the start, the author invested in characterisation development; I found Logan very likeable from the very beginning, one that you could feel immediate kin
... moredness. I found Amanda very strong and down to earth, needles to say, a lot of vulnerability and soreness accompanied her throughout the book prior to her horrible experience whilst being a victim of a vicious attack. Here, the author tries to convince the reader of the emotional connection between the two and the reader is adoringly drawn to their love development and she made it believable too.[Spoiler]And then the striking point came at the end of the story, when Logan abandoned Amanda at the hospital whilst she was fighting for her life and the reader is rather left with unpleasant feeling and disbelief quite contrary to the idea of Logan loving her profoundly and always putting her safety at his first priority. Additionally, I felt emotionally disturbed of how could he leave her without his support by way of justifying his guilt of blaming himself for her injuries and death of his colleague officer. She declared her love to him and he perfectly new that she had been trough a hell and needed support, but here his guild and pride over blind him and he acted cowardly by leaving her a letter with lies (because he was to scared revealing his feelings to her), quite shock to what I was led to believe by the author. That led me to ultimate disappointment of him, as Amanda did not deserved to be abandon in such circumstances, she could have died at this hospital alone, and even when she recovered, he did not even come to her once... where was his love??? I could not be that easily convinced on that account. What a shame, as this is the only disappointing part, but the rest is sweet. less

A definite step down from #3. If I'd read it first I would not have read the next.

One of those books I couldn't read at night. Or when I was home alone. Loved it.
