review 1: As a forty-(cough) year old, I know I'm not Dunham's target audience. But that didn't stop me from loving this book. Yes, some of the essays felt a little slight, but I think she often nails what it's like to be young. Things are different from when I was her age--but not that different. So many of the sentiments still hold. And she's funny! So very funny! She is over the top and over privileged and yet she still makes me love her. This book may not be for everyone, but it was totally for me!

... morend self-absorbed, yes, but funny and sometimes endearing too. But reading a book about her actual life just makes me think she's kind-of weird and hard to relate to. A quick read, and funny at times, but not super enjoyable. less
