review 1: This is a very clinical description of a battle with anorexia (with a happy ending). The art is interesting, and I like the little stories hiding in the background of the action. I like the symbolic death-like character of tyranny, though I can't quite shake the sense that 'tyranny' wasn't really the right word to identify what she describes. I felt it was too clinical for me to become attached to the protagonist, though, and that is a large deficit when it's her story. We should suffer with her. That said, good on her for winning her battle with image distortion, and for having her dream to publish come true!
review 2: What a powerful book this is. The graphic novel format makes it very readable, but the subject matter (anorexia and bulimia) is not at all
... more light. It's quite apparent that the author is writing from her own experiences. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to 7th and 8th grade girls and hope it has a strong impact on them. My only negative reaction was that Anna's parents seem quite absent from her situation and that seemed unrealistic to me. less

Interesting comic about what it's like to have anorexia, and the effects it has on one's life.

Interesting. I can really sense from the author that this a big issue that still effects her.

I was surprised that it was a comic type of book but I actually liked it.
