Deadly Vacation

Over Maya Dead Body By Sandra Orchard

—Crime doesn’t take a vacation.

FBI Special Agent Serena Jones is finally getting a well-deserved vacation on Martha’s Vineyard to attend a family engagement celebration. However, it soon turns deadly when a body is found too close to home. Serena quickly becomes involved in the investigation. Things get even more interesting when the two men vying for her attention show up and become entangled in the mess as well. Just who is being targeted?

Serena’s feelings are torn between the two men. Just who will she pick in the end and is her life in danger the closer she gets to solving the case?

Sandra Orchard has done it again with this cat and mouse cozy mystery. Over Maya Dead Body captures you from the beginning and holds you till the very end. This whodunit will keep you guessing like it did me. Just when you think you have it figured out, things take a different turn. Love that!

Once again the characters came alive for me. I especially love Aunt Martha and Harold the cat. He even got to come on the vacation. Love it! Each character is well-rounded and jumps off the page to the reader. Well done.

Vivid imagery throughout helps the reader picture everything on Martha’s Vineyard. It was clear the author did their homework when writing this novel.

I won’t spoil the ending on whether or not Serena went with Team Nate or Team Tanner, but the author keeps you guessing right till the very end. Both were great choices, but one had to win, right?!

The plot was well written and kept you turning the pages. Just when you thought it was going one way, the author surprised you by changing direction. I’m sad to see this series end as it’s been a fun ride!

I give Over Maya Dead Body five sea shells. It’s one vacation you’ll want to take.

*I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
