review 1: There should be an option on Goodreads for "TRIED to read". I am shelving it for now in hopes that one day, when all the books in the world have disappeared, I will have this book to read. After all, I saw some good reviews. I can't understand how this author writes. The sentences run on and I have to add my own pause to comprehend what I am reading. If anybody else had a hard time reading it but really ended up enjoying it, I would love to hear from you. Until then, I am moving on to a different book.
review 2: I found this book to be a quick read. The story line was in some way predictable, but a feel good chic lit story none the less. The characters were interesting but lacked much depth. On more than one occasion I thought the author was going to take ti
... moreme to unravel the characters, yet it seems Guccione stops short of allowing the reader that insight. Perhaps most troubling for me was the actual writing style. Often I was confused and I found the dialogue to be somewhat uncomfortable. I eventually got use to the unusual writing and inserted breaks etc in my own head where I was use to finding them. While this novel is not perfect the love between two friends and the support they show each other through times of trouble redeems any shortcomings. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a quick, simple, feel good read... perhaps the perfect book to take along with you as you relax by the shore. less
