review 1: Minding Molly by Leslie Gould is about Molly Zook, a more controlling and in charge personality you will not find. She not only plans her life, but she tries to plan others as well. She meets the man she wants to marry, and then tries to push her best friend with the guy who likes her. Her scheming doesn't seem to be working so well. Maybe she should just let God handle it?This was not ones average Amish fiction so it was a nice change of pace for that genre. I enjoyed the beginning and the ending. The middle really dragged for me. The story, for me, didn't seem to flow. I don't want to insert spoilers, but it was just hard to believe that after all the crazy things it worked out smoothly in the end. It was a fast read and parts quite enjoyable. Despite Molly being so boss... morey, I did like her and several of the other characters.For those who love Amish fiction, I would recommend this for a nice change from the traditional. This Amish family sells herbs and flowers for their living, and this community isn't as strict as some. I enjoyed the fact that it was different. To me, anyway, I needed it a bit more realistic.I was given this book through The Book Club Network for my honest opinion which I have given.
review 2: This book was absolutely delightful! I enjoyed the story and the character development. I identified with Molly in many ways, so this book was such a pleasure to read. I even cried in a couple places. I would love to read more books by this author. This is the third book in a series of books in which the stories reflect themes of Shakespearean plays. Such an unusual and unexpected twist for Amish novels.I received a copy of the book by the Book Club Network in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own. less
