review 1: I had been kind of wary of this book since I wasn't into getting bogged down in Ancient Sumerian mythology. But I seen a lot of positive review and thought it would fit good with a challenge so I thought I would give it a try. I'm glad I did because this was a wonderful shifter book with simple world building that didn't become of mess trying to Incorporated the Sumerian mythology. Tristan and his relationship with Ushna although had alot of protectiveness and deep love it wasn't insta-love that is found in most books. They both have a long history together. I also like how I really didn't expect alot of things that happen that did. For me the plot line did run the normal course of most shifter books and so I really didn't know what was going to come next. The only d... moreownside to this book is the major cliffhanger that this series seems found of since it is in each book, and the major wait between the last book of the series and the future one.
review 2: I love the detailed descriptions Lexi puts in to her world building. When I opened the story and saw the list of Gods and Goddesses I thought "Great, it's gonna take me ages to figure all this out." But it really didn't, it wasn't a mind-boggling dump of information and foreign words. The prologue really helped with the absorption of names and important aspects that came along during the story.I really enjoyed this. less
