review 1: The book “Snow White and the Huntsman” by Lily Blake is about the typical Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs story we are all used to hearing but has a more adventurous type of twist to it. The story starts off with Snow White being locked up in a castle and she is trying to remember a time when she wasn't stuck up there. Then she remembers that it’s her 16th birthday which means she has been in there for 16 years without any sort of contact with the real world because Queen. Days, weeks, and months pass by and Snow White has seen other beautiful girls with a perfect complexion get put into the cell next to her. When the Queen calls them down and they come back Snow White describes them as looking this, “...they look like they have gotten all the youth taken out of [... morethem]”. Like all the rest of the tales of Snow White the Queen is keeping her locked up so no one knows she is alive. Well one day Snow White was thinking of different ways to get out because she did not want to end up like the other prisoners that have been here. She made a brave move and struck one of the guards and escaped. She escapes to the dark forest where she later met the seven dwarfs and Prince William. Snow White and Prince William figure out a plan to destroy the Queens kingdom and later Snow White’ face to face with the Queen and has no choice but to fight her.Even though this book is based off a fairy tale it was still extremely good because it was more so written for teenagers this time instead of little kids. It has a lot more action and adventure to it which kept my attention. This book was really good in my opinion. I would recommend this book to any girl who likes action and adventure in a good classic love story.
review 2: Ich hab mir das Buch geholt, da ich den Film gesehen hatte und den wirklich super fand, aber, ein Film lebt von Bildern.Diese Bilder konnten in dem Buch leider überhaupt nicht vermittelt werden. Zum Glück hatte ich eh nicht so große Erwartungen an das Buch, trotzdem hätte ich mir wegen dem Thema gewünscht, dass es ein bisschen wie ein phantastisches, düsteres Märchen geschrieben ist.Leider ist es aber nur eine Aneinanderreihung der Ereignisse, wie sie im Film vorkamen. Wenn ich den Film nicht gesehen hätte, wäre ich beim Lesen sehr verwirrt worden, da haben mir manchmal die Zusammenhänge gefehlt und die vielen Logikfehler haben mich genervt. Vielleicht hat mich der Film mit den tollen Bildern über diese Fehler hinweg getäuscht, das Buch konnte das mit dem Sprachstil eines Schulaufsatzes leider nicht.Gefallen haben mir die kleinen Anspielungen/Parallelen zum Märchen Schneewittchen. Am Buch gefällt mir hauptsächlich das Cover.Es wäre eine wirklich interessante Geschichte, hier mal gut verfilmt, aber im Schreibstil fehlen die Bildgewalt, die Spannung und der Bezug zu den Personen. Da hätte man auf jeden Fall mehr daraus machen können.© Aleshanee less
